Low carbon retrofit

Sustainable Development/Housing Low Carbon Retrofit
Broadland Housing Group has been carrying out 6 Low Carbon Retrofit Projects. All works are now completed and for the last 12 months we have been monitoring and evaluating the performance. Our targets were to deliver up to 80% reduction of carbon emissions from each home included within the project.
A bit more information; The project is being funded via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is the first of its kind within the Eastern Region. The project will be used to identify best solutions for low carbon retrofit, and the varied scenarios within it’s realm will allow this. The project will be used to disseminate greater knowledge with a view to enhancing the supply chain development and the knowledge within this field throughout the process, all with a view to improving the opportunities and options available for all to reach future targets of carbon reduction within social housing stock.
The properties that received the work were a mixture of size and age, with properties dating from 1850 all the way to 1999, and sizing from 1 bedroom first floor flats to a 4 bedroom end terrace, this random selection allowed a variety of approaches and applications to be modelled.
Also, we approached all but one of the properties with the intention of carrying out the works whilst the tenants continued living in their homes.....how did we get on?
