What is a Tenant Housing Inspector?
|
A Housing inspector is a volunteer who will be involved in evaluating and inspecting a handful of empty properties on an annual basis.

Who can get involved?
|
All Broadland Housing tenants can get involved as a housing inspector. |

Will I need to have experience or qualifications to participate?
|
No qualifications or experience will be required. |

Will I receive any training?
|
You will be asked to attend a brief training session with the Property Services Manager, Peter Brown to provide you with a greater understanding of the role as a housing inspector. |

What will I be expected to do following my training?
|
Once you have received your training you will be provided with a list of properties to visit in your area and we will ask you to complete an evaluation form for each property. |

Will I have to go alone?
|
We will encourage all housing inspectors to ‘buddy’ up and have someone with them. |

I do not have much free time, how will I get involved?
|
Inspections will be carried out at a time convenient to you. |

What about my expenses?
|
We will cover any form of travel and child care costs for the date of inspection.
In addition we will invite you to an annual lunch time meeting with the Property Services Manager the Resident Involvement Team and a member of staff from MEARS to discuss your findings with all our Tenant Housing Inspectors.
You will also receive a £10 high street voucher for each visit. |
